It all began with a desire to help others in need. Christmas time can be stressful enough without the added pressure of not being able to provide for your family. Loaves and Fishes was created to help families with school-aged children. Every cent donated goes toward providing the families with food, clothing, and gifts for the children. Loaves and Fishes tries to provide for as many families as funds allow.
Once selected, we contact the family, and they fill out a wish list for us. We were able to help three families in our first year.
A local high school sophomore wanted to cook a Christmas meal for her overworked mom and three younger siblings. We were able to purchase gifts for her to give her siblings, all the food pictured, rolls, ham, pork chops, mustard greens, sausage, ground beef, and a fresh-baked upside-down pineapple cake.
A local mother only asked for a Barbie for her daughter and formula for food. We were able to provide her with extra gifts, wrapping paper, all the food pictured, rolls, ham, sausage, ground beef, chicken, and pork chops.
A local father asked for a bike and shoes for his daughter and a few pantry items. We were able to purchase a Barbie, all the food pictured, rolls, ham, sausage, ground beef, chicken, and pork chops.
